Merging Locations

Locations may be merged into one another before being removed from the system. In order to do so, an original must be selected which will be merged into a Target.

To maintain data integrity, the Target Location will not be edited in any way. All of their associations and details will remain as they are before the merging process.

Once the merge is complete all of the items which were assigned to the Original will now be assigned to the Target and the Original Location will be deleted.

Moved

The following items will be moved from the Original Location into the Target Location:

  • System Accounts

  • Customers Inventory

  • Item Categories

  • Inventory Items Stock Records

  • Inventory Items Inventory

  • Orders Inventory Virtual Locations

  • Service Contracts

  • Workorders

Users

  • Where a user has additional permissions in the Original Location they will have these copied to the Target Location.

  • If the user has additional permissions in the Target Location these are left intact.

  • If the user's default location is the Original, it will be moved to the Target.

Deleted

As the Original Location will take on the attributes of the Target Location, the following original associations are removed from the Original Location prior to deleting:

  • Original Location’s Group Schemes

  • Original Location’s Library Directories

  • Original Location’s Health And Safety Forms

  • Original Location’s Location’s insurance details

  • Original Location’s Location’s product types

  • Original Location’s Usage Agreements

  • Original Location’s Product Type Groups
