Backorder Items
Backorder Items is a process which indicates that although Items are currently unavailable now, they will be available in the future.
Backorder Overview
When an Item is requested, it is entered into the Pending Item Requests list. Items that are unavailable will not be selectable. If you know that an Item will be available in the future, you may mark it as being in a special status Backorder.
When you mark an Item as being on Backorder the following actions will occur:
Every Workorder that has an Item Request for the Backorder Item will have their status changed to Inventory - Backorder. This will lock the Workorder until the item is restocked.

Mark an Item as on Backorder
Select the Flag Icon beside the item that you want to put on Backorder, select the Backorder status and click Save.

When Item is restocked
Enter the new item into the system using by Adjusting Stock
When new stock for an item is entered into the system, the following actions will occur automatically:
The item's Backorder status will be set to No.
All the Workorders which are currently in the Inventory - Backorder status because they are waiting for that specific Item will be changed to the Inventory - Order Requested status.
The items in the Pending Item Requests list will become selectable so that you can Create an Order for the newly Pending Requests
